In 2020, AVIDIN was one of the first to develop a highly sensitive PCR method for SARS-CoV-2 virus detection. The company’s molecular microbiology diagnostic department performs continuous quality control and develops new diagnostic kits suitable for detecting other respiratory viruses. In addition to the most common viruses that cause respiratory diseases (influenza and Covid), the company has carried out a PCR procedure suitable for detecting the RSV virus, which causes more severe disease in children, since April 2022, and has made it available to the public through the Whitelab network. During the validation of the SARS-CoV-2 PCR carried out a few days ago, we confirmed that our method is among the most sensitive detection systems – 8 viral RNAs could be detected with 100% sensitivity. Avidin Ltd performed the internal quality control with the SARS-CoV-2 RNA WHO International Standard (NIBSC) provided by the WHO.
The obtained results confirm the high quality of the PCR tests performed in the microbiology laboratory of Avidin Ltd.
